Heavenly High-Tea @ Palace of the Golden Horses Review

Wanting a quiet time with your partner over the weekends and don't know where to go? How many times have we fall in the situation where we feel the malls are too packed on weekends and just getting a place to park your car is a pain in the rear while cinema good seats are always filled? All you want is some alone time with your partner and it's so hard right? Nope. You should try the Grand Salon Lobby Lounge's Heavenly High-Tea at the Palace of the Golden Horses

The centerpiece of rotating Koi-Horses, one of the legends of Palace adorns the Lobby lounge

With a seating capacity of 72, you could have your small group private lunch arrangement here too.

Back to the Hi Tea selection. Palace offers 3 selections of Hi Tea from RM65 nett onwards, namely the English Hi Tea Set as above priced at RM112 nett per stand for 2 person served with coffee or tea with the option of free flow of chilled juice at RM115 nett or with a bottle of Nicolas Feuillatte Brut at RM895 nett.

Assorted afternoon tea pastries, tarts and cakes

Freshly baked raisin orange and plain scones served with Devonshire cream and Strawberry preserve

My personal favorite from top clockwise order:
- Cucumber sandwich with cream cheese, pickles & chives on caraway seeds bread.
- Lobster & dill sandwich with grain mustard mayo on mixed grain bread
- Scottish smoked salmon sandwich with lemon butter on rye bread

Next up we have the Malaysian Hi Tea selection at RM65 nett per stand for 2 person served with coffee or tea with the option of free flow of chilled juice at RM 68 nett or with a bottle of Nicolas Feuillatte Brut at RM850 nett.

The Malaysian Hi Tea set is unique as it features our local kuihs such as Kek Lapis, Seri Muka, Yam Cake and Kuih Ketayap

On the other plate is the Nasi Lemak Burger, Chicken Satay Open Faced served with satay sauce!

Punjabi Samosa, Mini Apam Balik, Ipoh Heong Peah(Biscuit with Maltose fillings) and mini chicken Char Siew Pau.

As they always say, I leave the best for the last. Why? Cos it's called Healthy Hi Tea stand priced at only RM65 nett per stand for 2 person served with coffee or tea with the option of free flow of chilled juice at RM 68 nett or with a bottle of Nicolas Feuillatte Brut at RM850 nett. You know when people say healthy doesn't rhyme with delicious, I beg to differ in this case. Why? Let me introduce the food then you would know.

From top in clockwise order:
- Avocado Masher with sesame, sunflower seeds & coriander. Coming from a person who doesn't eat avocado, this is really an eye opener on how differently this could taste. A definitely must try.
- Deep fried yam puff with fresh mushroom. Another must try for all yam and mushroom lovers!
- Steamed Cassava with honey. Not a fan of non fried cassava but this taste extremely good like mashed sweet potatoes.

Clockwise from top right:
- Banana, Peanut butter and almond shooter. On first glance it looks like pastry at the bottom but it's actually banana and the combination is real flavorful in the mouth
- Mini Cashew nut tart
- Rasberry and Vanilla custard choux bun. If the fruity burst from the raspberry ain't enough, the vanilla custard will definitely tingle your senses.

Clockwise from top right:
Spinach & Alfafa sprouts on charcoal toast
Green peas, fresh mint & Parmesan crostini,
Endive spears with garbanzo salsa

We even have a special presentation from the chef on how the Avocado masher was made

Fresh and loving each bite of it.
