It's that time of the year again where our muslim friends fast for the day and break fast with their loved ones and enjoy the good food. My choice? Get away from the congestions and traffic jams of the KL city center so I could eat my hearts out with all the good foods like Live seafood available right in Cyberjaya. Read on to find out more..
This would be the second year I was invited to their berbuka puasa session at The Verandah and I could say they still surprise me.
The festive lights reminds me of the good old kampung raya lights. A welcoming sight indeed.
Let's start to a cup of good old hand pulled teh tarik or kopi tarik one of the many action stalls set out along the pathways of the Verandah.
Take your pick on over 30 concept stalls offering delicacies from the different cultures which makes us Malaysian
First off would of course be the varieties of curries and rendangs one could get. Clockwise from top right: Beef rendang, Gulai Kambing, Daging Salai Masak Lemak Cili Api and Kari Ikan & Bendi(Fish curry with ladies fingers)
Next would be the traditional malay salads and starters along with sauces and different salted fishes.
What's a buka puasa session without the good old satay, both marinated beef and chicken on skewers slowly heated over charcoal fire drenched in peanut sauce accompanied with rice cubes, onions and cucumber.
They also have the Assam Pedas and Tempoyak station where you choose from the different fish they have to offer and you have them cooked for you right in front of you.
Ikan Bakar. Fish wrapped with marinates herbs and grilled to perfection
What I like most is that they introduced the charcoal roasted chicken for their chicken rice, the Nasi Ayam Tempayan. Freshly prepares so you get your chickens roasting hot.
What's buka puasa without the kambing golek? My favourite medium roasted lamb served with the good old black pepper sauce..
They also offers grilled lamb shoulders and roasted beef
For Japanese food lovers, they have a sushi section along with cold saba noodles not to be missed.
Then we have the chili crabs with fresh mantou buns perfect for dipping into the crab gravy.
Live on the wok, swimming tiger prawns cooked fresh in normal boiled or salted egg fried. Both not to be missed.
Or indulge yourself into their cold seafood platters
Fresh steaming dimsums or deep fried ones is definitely a catch for the young ones who loves some crispy crunch.
p.s. don't miss out on their deep fried homemade crispy musang king durian rolls. A definite must try for all durian lovers
The horchien made fresh to order offering clams and prawns in grilled eggs and tapioca crisp served hot that you would come back for more.
The fruits section saw the new addition of the rojak sauce, mixing bowl and peanuts so you could mix your own rojak with all your favourite fruits.
Down to desserts, they offer a variety of prepared Traditional Kuih Muihs like tepung pelita, ondeh ondeh, kuih lapis and cakes along with banana Thai Pancakes also made fresh as you order them
Red bean soup and pengat is also a must not miss for the traditional berbuka flavours
Enjoy your food while your kids digs their hands into the jars for the good old biscuits and dodols
